About a year and a half ago I gave a cute boy on Eharmony my phone number. The first time he called he talked about a mile a minute. He told me about life on the farm and about work and his family. I began to learn that this was a real man...a hard-working, family loving, God fearing, proud-to-be-an-American man. He was funny, smart, and sweet. I remember thinking, “If God had made a man just for me, he would be just like this”. I don't believe God makes people for each other and I'm not sure there is just one right person, but talking with Jon was comfortable and familiar and I liked him a whole lot from the very start.
What attracts me about Jon now is similar and different than back then. I value his good heart, his listening ear, the way he treats people and most of all the way he treats me. I trust him. I believe in him. I know that he would go to the moon and back to take care of the people he loves. He is a provider and a protector. He has already proven how much he is willing to do to make this relationship work and let me just say…”Ain’t no mountain high, ain’t no valley low, ain’t no river wide enough, baby…”
So here we have decided to go...into the beautiful and fearsome depths of the covenant of marriage. We do not take these steps lightly. We trust only in God to sustain us and carry us through as he has promised to do in everything...from glory to glory! I am full of joy, excitement and gratitude at this opportunity to know love and exercise faith in a new way. And I pray that we can, in every way, honor the Lord Jesus in our marriage.
I have found the one whom my soul loves. -Song of Solomon 3:4. I choose him forever. :)
